First Citizens' Charitable Foundation believes that education matters and that preparing people for their future is important. That's why we offer scholarships to eligible graduating high school seniors every year. Through our Scholarship Program we honor students who exhibit the academic excellence and drive to make their dreams a reality.

$5,000 Scholarships - First Citizens’ Charitable Foundation
Aspiring to strengthen the communities we serve by empowering our younger generations to strive for excellence. We offer scholarships to students who exhibit the academic excellence and drive to make their dreams a reality. First Citizens’ is proud to offer three (3) $5,000 scholarships
to three graduating high school students.


Scholarship Program Requirements:
Before applying, be sure to have the following information available and ready to upload. All must be emailed to community@firstcitizens.org

  • Please fill out this application and save to your computer before sending via email. 
  • An official copy of your high school transcript.
  • A letter of recommendation from someone other than a parent/guardian who has experience working with you through a school activity, job, or community involvement.
  • A type written, single spaced essay (500-600 words) that answers the essay question found on the backside of the application.

Scholarship Program Qualifications:
  • The applicant and/or parent(s)/guardian(s) MUST be a member of First Citizens’ Federal Credit Union to be eligible to apply.
  • Scholarships shall be limited to graduating high school seniors who will be furthering their education in an accredited two or four year college program to which he or she has been accepted for the following academic year.
  • Achieve a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00 or have a counselor, advisor or teacher submit a Special Recommendation as part of the application process.
  • The Scholarship Program is not open to employees and Board Members of First Citizens’ Federal Credit Union and its subsidiaries or their families.
  • First Citizens’ Charitable Foundation Scholarship will be paid in 1 check disbursement made out to the student and their college/university.  (Details regarding disbursement provided during application process and once student is awarded.)

All application materials must be submitted to community@firstcitizens.com by 5:00pm on April 1, 2023. Any missing information will result in disqualification of application.
