ONE $1,000 Scholarship - Barbara Whitehead Silva
This scholarship is offered in honor of Mrs. Barbara Silva, former
President/CEO, who retired from First Citizens’ after working here
for 45 years. In appreciation of her dedicated years of service, First
Citizens’ is proud to offer this $1,000 scholarship to a graduating high
school student
 
Three $5,000 Scholarships - First Citizens’ Charitable Foundation
Aspiring to strengthen the communities we serve by empowering our
younger generations to strive for excellence. We offer scholarships to
students who exhibit the academic excellence and drive to make their
dreams a reality. First Citizens’ is proud to offer three $5,000 scholarships
to three graduating high school students.

Scholarship Program Qualifications:
  • The applicant and/or parent(s)/guardian(s) MUST be a member of First Citizens’ Federal Credit Union to be eligible to apply.
  • Scholarships shall be limited to graduating high school seniors who will be furthering their education in an accredited two or four year
    college program to which he or she has been accepted for the following academic year.
  • Achieve a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00 or have a counselor, advisor or teacher submit a Special Recommendation as part of the
    application process.
  • The Scholarship Program is not open to employees and Board Members of First Citizens’ Federal Credit Union and its subsidiaries or
    their families.
  • Barbara Whitehead Silva Scholarship will be paid in 1 check disbursement: request for payment must be submitted by December 1, 2021.
  • First Citizens’ Charitable Foundation Scholarship will be paid in 2 check disbursements: requests for first $2500 payment will be accepted prior to first semester starting and second $2500 payment at the completion of first semester of the first year at college or university.

Scholarship Program Requirements:
  • Completed application.
  • An official copy of your high school transcript.
  • A letter of recommendation from someone other than a parent/guardian who has experience working with you through a school activity, job, or community involvement.
  • A type written, single spaced essay (500-600 words) that answers the essay question found on the backside of the application.

All application materials must be submitted by 5:00pm on April 1, 2021.
Any missing information will result in disqualification of application.
